Fielding a ground ball can be simplified to a few key steps. The first step is to react to the ground ball by running towards it, and staying in a low, athletic position. When it comes time to field the ball, make sure your glove foot is forward and your throwing hand is placed above your glove, creating a mouth shape. Once you field the ball, move your glove hand and throwing hand to your abdomen while getting a solid grip on the ball, and then being your throw. See the video below for a visual walkthrough.
